Personal, Social, Health, Economic/Citizenship
At Glynwood we have a programme of learning that specifically caters for children within our catchment area. It develops the qualities and attributes pupils need to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society. We prepare them to manage many of the most critical opportunities, challenges and responsibilities they will face growing up in such rapidly changing and challenging times. We also help them to connect and apply the knowledge and understanding they learn in all subjects to practical, real-life situations whilst helping them to feel safe and secure enough to fulfil their academic potential.
Our PSHE/C Curriculum
We have a progressive PSHE/C curriculum – Our four core themes build on skills learned in the previous year. These themes are:
- personal development
- relationships
- lifestyle
- citizenship
Our PSHE curriculum is organised and age appropriate for pupils within each year group based on feedback from teachers, pupils and parents. Glynwood has an experienced teaching team, with training in specific PSHE/C areas and good subject knowledge. We are aware of current legislation and are closely connected to our local community, so can incorporate strategies to address issues with ease.Â

PSHE/C is taught every other half term, as a weekly lesson. It is also integrated into other subject areas such as Science, Literacy, RE, PE, assemblies, circle times, whole school house events and family days.
