Curriculum Intent – Performing Arts

Performing Arts at Glynwood Community Primary School aims to develop, nurture, sustain and celebrate the individual creative potential of all our students. The arts teach discipline, improve self-esteem, inspire creativity, and help young people to set and reach goals. It aims to engage all students, providing opportunities and variety to explore the core subjects that make up Performing Arts: music, dance and drama. Performing Arts is not a Curriculum area, but encompasses elements from many subjects and disciplines in particular, Music, Drama, Dance (PE), Art and Design. Glynwood Community Primary School believes that Performing Arts is a vehicle which allows children to use and develop their imagination as well as enabling them to express a wide range of ideas and emotions.
