Mr Otterson and Mr Telford

Welcome back to school. We hope everyone had a great Christmas holidays and are ready for the challenges that lie ahead this term.  This is a very busy 12 weeks leading up to the dreaded SATs in early May, so expect your child to have more regular homework and to be invited for booster sessions during and after school.  Please encourage your child to complete their homework tasks as it provides vital practise and reinforcement of skills learned in school.  It would also be extremely beneficial to hear your child read at least 2 to 3 times a week and for them to use the online games like times table rock stars to develop their skills.  We will also be covering some quite grown up issues in our KIdsafe sessions, so if you would like any additional information please contact Miss Ferguson.

We will continue to visit Joseph Swan for special events and sporting events this term including a basketball competition at the end of January.  Your child will also find out their secondary school in early March, but if you don’t get your first choice school don’t forget there is an appeal process you can go through.

Make sure pupils continue to bring in their PE kit on a Monday and take it home at the end of the week as you never know when the chance to do additional practise may arise.

If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to make an appointment any time or pop in to see us after the school day finishes.

I am sure we will have a fantastic term together
