YEAR 5

Summer Term 2019

Welcome back to the Summer term! We hope you had a lovely Easter, and have heard lots of fun stories about our trip to Malham. The children were a real credit to Glynwood, and their families.

During this term we will be learning about Ancient Greece. Following the success of our Victorian Day, we are planning to have a Greek Day where we will be preparing and tasting Greek food, dressing in togas and doing some Greek dancing. Weather permitting we will also be holding a Greek Olympics!

In Science we will be learning about Earth and Space, and Forces, including springs and gravity.

Greek Myths and Legends will be our theme in English, along with a grammar and spelling focus.

In Maths we will be improving our pace and accuracy in Times Tables Rockstars, and will be continue to develop our arithmetic, problem solving and reasoning skills.

PE will focus on tag rugby and kwik cricket, which we are sure the children will enjoy.

We are really looking forward to enjoying these lessons with the children this term, and hope they will share their enthusiasm at home too.

Thank you again for your support.
