YEAR 3

Summer Term 2018

Welcome back! We hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter break.

We are starting our Summer term off with our Birds topic. We look forward to finding out more about the birds that visit the garden outside our classrooms. We also have plans to visit the Washington Wetlands centre.

In English, our learning will be based around our class novels – The Minpins and The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark – both of which tie in fabulously with our topic work.

In Science, we will begin to learn about the importance of nutrition as well as functions of skeletons and muscles in our Animals including Humans topic. After this, we will learn about plants.

Our PE lessons have changed this term

-Swimming lessons on a Monday afternoon
Y3 W/E aim to return to school for the end of the school day
Y3 LR aim to return to school for 4pm
This is for the first half of the summer term, then the classes will swap times after the May break

The children will also have their regular PE lesson on a Wednesday afternoon

How many words have we read so far?
