YEAR 3

Spring Term 2019

Happy New Year and welcome to the Spring Term of Year 3. Our main focus for the first part of the term will be on our production of ‘The Bee Musical’. The children will soon be bringing home scripts and songs to learn. We are sure that it will be an extravaganza for you to enjoy!

We are also very lucky to receive some coaching sessions this half term in gymnastics and multi-skills.

We hope that it will be a successful and enjoyable term!

Dressed for a Wedding

Year 3 looked wonderful today, all dressed for a Royal Wedding! We had a lovely day, eating our picnic outside and doing some wedding related activities in the class. We also looked at the Royal family tree and were amazed at how far back it...

Minpins in the garden?

A strange thing happened one beautiful sunny morning at Glynwood. Two teeny orange letters, addressed to our Year 3 classes, were left in the garden, high in the trees. We think a bird had been carrying these in it's beak, as Mrs Armstrong had seen a small bird at the...

World Book Day in Year 3 W/E

It was lovely to see so many children dressed up and excited about our World Book Day! There were many different characters in our classroom and we were thrilled to hear how many stories they loved to read or listen to. We had some stories in class, and read to the...

French Day Tuesday 13th March

Winter Wonderland at Glynwood

Children had a wonderful time this week playing in the sunshine and snow at Glynwood. What a beautiful sight it was! Children threw snowballs, made snowmen and happily stomped and chased around. Our castle looked like it was from a fairy tale with it's snow topped...

Year 3 singing at the QE Hospital

Dressed in Christmas hats, tinsel and Rudolph ears, our Year 3 children walked over to the QE hospital and entertained the patients with their beautiful singing. They shared Christmas carols and songs, and really brought a taste of Christmas to the ward. The staff...

We made it to a million!

Year 3 W/E were so excited to discover they had achieved their challenge! Over one million (One million, eighty-one thousand, one hundred and sixty-one) words read by the whole class before Christmas! This was the score on the week before we broke up - what an...

Fantastic Stone Age Homework!

The children of Y3W/E and Y3LR have brought in some wonderful Stone Age homework this week! They have worked hard producing some brilliant models, pictures, tools and designs! We have been really impressed with the time and effort put into these. The children have...
