YEAR 2

Mrs Commons, Mrs Allom and Mr Routledge

Spring Term 2018

Welcome back from the Christmas break. We hope you all had a wonderful time and a Happy New Year to everyone.

Our Spring term begins with the topic ‘In The Night Sky’. We will be looking at lots of different aspects, such as stars and planets, explorers and nocturnal animals.

Science work will be based around materials.

Maths will cover number work, problem solving, shape, measuring and data handling.

As well as our phonics programme Read Write Inc., our English work will cover story writing, non-fiction, poetry, grammar and punctuation.

Spellings will continue to be given out on a Friday and tested the following Friday.

We will be sending out some more creative homework challenges, linked to the topics of Space, so watch out for those! We look forward to seeing what all the children get up to.

We will also be having a go at doing some practice tests in preparation for the government tests in May.

We look forward to working with your children. Any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to come and see us.
