Summer Term

The final term of Year 2 is here and it certainly is a very busy one! We will be working hard in preparation for our SAT’s assessments, starting the week beginning 13th May. The assessments are completed in small groups in a calm and encouraging environment. The children will have Maths, Reading, Grammar and Spelling assessments over a two-week period.

In class we will move onto a new Science topic, Plants. We will be doing lots of outdoor learning to learn about how plants grow.

For our topic work, we will be learning about some non-European countries and our local area. We will be visiting the Quayside to learn about the bridges, landmarks and famous buildings on the River Tyne.

We’re hoping that the sun will shine throughout the Summer term so that we can do lots of outdoor learning and prepare for sports day later in the term. Mrs and Mr Allom will be treating us to some forest school activities too – we can’t wait!

Thank you for your continued support.
