Summer Term 2019

Welcome to the Summer term! We are hoping that the sun will continue shining to help our plants and flowers grow in our outdoor area. The children will be involved in potting plants and planting flowers/veg and taking turns to water them. We will also look at different life cycles and hopefully be able to observe some caterpillars turn into butterflies. We will also continue to follow children’s interests when planning our classroom resources and activities.

Keep an eye out on the noticeboard for our stay and play dates, as well as shared story times and our ‘Dads, Lads and Grandads’ day. We will also be practising for sports day and learning new songs ahead of our graduation.

We have had lots of positive responses to the introduction of Tapestry journal. We hope that you have enjoyed seeing photos and videos of what your child has been getting up to at nursery. Staff have really enjoyed seeing the fantastic things you have been doing at home too!

Thank you for your continued support

The Nursery Team

Red Nose Day

Thank you for all the donations that came in to Nursery for Red Nose Day. The children looked great in their RED outfits!

Nursery’s visit to Gibside National Trust

Wow! What a fantastic day we had a Gibside National Trust. Hunting for story clues, following trails and building dens. Would you believe we nearly walked 5 miles, stopping along the way for lunch and a play at the Strawberry Castle. We are very proud of all the...

World Book Day in Nursery

Today we all came dressed as story book characters. Some of us also brought in our favourite books to share with friends. We thoroughly enjoyed acting out different stories and listening to new stories read by Mrs Walker and a special visitor from Year 2, Mrs King.

Lets go fly a kite!

In Nursery we decided to design our own kites and attach ribbons to them to make tails. We had great fun testing out our kites on the field, during our trekking session. They all looked fabulous and successfully lifted up into the sky!

Nursery Celebrate ‘French Day’

Today all of the nursery children came into school beautifully dressed in blue, red and white for French day. Our classroom was decorated with french flag bunting and a great big french flag as we walked in! Nursery listened and danced to French music, tasted...

Nursery hunt for the muddiest puddle!

It was a very wet morning this morning before our Trekking session so we decided that we would go on the hunt for muddy puddles! We have been trying really hard the last few weeks to become more independent when getting ourselves dressed and today we were superstars...

Independent Superstars in Nursery!

We have all been trying really hard in Nursery to be more independent. We have been attempting to take off and put on our own jumpers and cardigans- some of us even managing to do the tricky buttons! The grown-ups are so proud of us trying to do our coats ourselves...

Fun in the snow!

Nursery children had lots of fun making shapes and patterns with their footprints in the snow, working together to build mini snowmen and pulling each other on sledges. We love the snow!

Nursery had a great time at the Early Years party. Everyone was dressed so smartly in their wonderful party clothes! The Animups Show was very entertaining and the yummy party food was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Santa even popped by and left presents because everyone...
