NURSERY

Miss Hancock and Mrs Walker

Summer Term 2018

Welcome back to Nursery for the Summer term. We cannot believe how fast this year is going and how much the children have grown not only in size but in independence over the holidays!
This term we will begin to spend time focusing on transitions and change, to help prepare for the big move from Nursery to Reception. Also preparing our returner nursery children for some of their friends to be moving on and the arrival of new friends in September.
We realise that the move from nursery to reception is a big step for children and parents/carers. Please feel free to chat to staff about any concerns you may have. We will be organising times where we will visit reception for play sessions and where reception staff will come into nursery to do our story times.
Please keep an eye out on the noticeboard for information on the days we will be doing this so you can also chat to your child at home about this.
As the weather changes we will be looking at spending more time outdoors planting and growing flowers and vegetables. We will be continuing to follow children’s interests and use this to help us plan different learning opportunities.
Following our successful Ladies Pamper Day we will be organising a day for all the male role models in June. Keep an eye out on the notice board for upcoming dates!

Thank you for your continued support

Wild Wednesday !

For this week's Wild Wednesday in Nursery, Zig our alien friend, asked us to build him a new house. We thought about what we would need and where would be the best place to build it. We decided that a good place would be amongst the trees at the bottom of the field -...

The dentist visits Nursery !

The most important meal of the day !

Eating breakfast together is an important part of our morning Nursery session. We can choose toast or cereal and milk. We learn lots of social skills and we can all now use a knife to spread our own butter. We are going to ask our grown ups if we can practise at home...

Nursery numbers !

We have been practising how to write numbers in Nursery and we think you will agree that we are pretty good...

Sharing stories in Nursery

We LOVE stories and we always look forward to our grown ups coming in to join us for storytime every fortnight. Sometimes Mrs Yielder reads one of our favourite stories to everyone and sometimes we share stories with our own grown ups. Some of us love stories so much...
