NURSERY

Miss Hancock and Mrs Walker

Autumn Term 2017

A big welcome back to our returner nursery children and a warm welcome to our brand new Nursery starters!

Nursery has seen a lot of changes in the summer holidays in preparation for the introduction to the 30 hours funded entitlement. We have a brand new ‘Snug area’ including sensory equipment, designed as a place children can go to relax from the bustling nursery classroom!

We are creating a ‘Family’ wall in our snug area so please remember to bring in your family photos if you haven’t already. This is a fantastic chance for children to share and talk about their home life and will mean that there will be a little piece of home at nursery.

Starting nursery is a big step for children and parents alike and Nursery staff are always available to talk to you about any concerns or worries you may have.

This term we will be focusing on settling the children into nursery routines and exploring the continuous provision available. Our child centred play based learning ethos means we always look to follow children’s interests and ideas. We also encourage them to become independent in their own choices and self care.

As well as following the children’s ideas we will also be celebrating upcoming events such as harvest, halloween, bonfire night and Christmas this term. Keep an eye out for Nursery Christmas performance dates coming soon.

We also love to have parents/carers involved in Nursery life, once the children are settled we will be re-introducing the very popular shared storytimes.

Thank you for your support
