Miss Hancock and Mrs Walker

Autumn Term 2019

Welcome to our Nursery!

All of the Nursery Team are very happy to have you join us this year. A big welcome back to our returning nursery children too!

Last year we successfully introduced the 2.5 day sessions running Monday-Wednesday and Wednesday-Friday alongside the 30 hour entitlement and morning/afternoon sessions.

The Nursery team have spent a lot of time planning and organising how this will work in our setting and ensuring that as always we maintain the high quality provision we provide. All the information needed regarding this is in our intake booklet. Please feel free to speak to a member of staff if you have any queries or questions.

We would also like to thank parents/carers for being so supportive during our transition period. We understand that the settling in weeks can cause disruption but we are extremely pleased with how well the children have settled as a result. Starting a new setting can be unsettling for any child and transition days enable staff to spend more time getting to know your child, settle them into routines and the setting on a more personal basis. We feel the children have done fantastically well and hope you are as proud of them as we are!

This term is all about the children getting to know our nursery setting and exploring the environment. Staff will work with children as play partners, supporting them in their independent play. Staff use observations of where your child is at and their interests to inform planning and resources we put out. Please ensure you have returned your Tapestry forms so we can begin to document and share what your child has been learning.

We will also be showing children how to use the resources safely and how to put them away.

In addition to following children’s interest we will also be celebrating events occurring this term such as Bonfire Night, Halloween, Children in Need, Remembrance Day and Christmas.

We are really looking forward to getting to know your child more across this term!
