Year 5 enjoy Forest School

Year 5 are enjoying their Forest School sessions. Today we played a camouflage game, used tools to make jewellery and pencils and then had a fabulous campfire. Next week will be the last session for this group.

Magnificent Malham!

Year 5 had a wonderful time in Malham. We splodged in rivers, climbed hills, battled through a snowstorm, raced up 420 steps, learnt how to use a compass and spent an exciting time sleeping away from home with our friends! We wished we could have stayed longer!

Sports update

Well done to Swan and Stephenson house for their joint victory on Wednesday afternoon in the annual cross country event (see twitter for pics) and to the year 6 football team who came runners up in their 5 a side tournament at Gateshead stadium.  The boys were...

Year 4 forest school

Year 4 continue their forest school sessions. Today we read a story “The best nest” then all had a go at building our own nests. We realised how tricky it really is. We then had a campfire, stripped our own willow skewers to toast marshmallows and also made our own...

Science club continues for year 2 children

Science club has continued for the Year 2 children. This week we made our own sherbet and then played with an exploding volcano. We are having great fun. 2 more sessions to go.

Welcome to Glynwood Primary School

On behalf of Glynwood Community Primary, I am delighted to welcome you to the school website. I hope that you find all the information that you need.
Glynwood is a very happy school where everyone works together to achieve the absolute best for the children.   The dedicated staff team work hard to ensure that everyone in the school community has a voice, is valued and reaches their full potential in everything that they do.  We are very proud of the curriculum and the opportunities that the children are offered both as part of the school day and beyond.  We also work hard to embed the values of resilience, excellence, support, pride, engagement, creativity and team work (RESPECT) within the curriculum and wider opportunities.
This website contains lots of information about the school as well as the latest school news.  Please also see our Twitter feed for up to the minute information.
My door is always open, so if you have any questions or you would like to arrange a visit to the school then please feel free to call into the main office and make an appointment.
With my very best wishes,
Mrs Vicky Nellis

Parking Issues

A number of local residents, especially in Glynwood Gardens, have expressed their concerns over people parking over their driveways. Whilst it is not against the law to park over driveways, it is very inconsiderate. Please respect our neighbours and park considerately.

Comic Relief Day March 2013

We asked the children to come to school today wearing something red for Comic Relief. The school has been very colourful today and we are very pleased to announce that we have raised £186.73 in donations for the Comic Relief Charity.
