  • Residential visit to: Malham
Date of Visit: 1st-3rd April 2019

    Dear Parents/Carers

We have planned a 3 day (2 night) residential trip to the village of Malham, Yorkshire Dales, staying in a youth hostel.

The dates of the visit are Monday 1st April leaving school at 9am and returning Wednesday 3rd April at around 4pm.

As well as the social/fun aspect of the trip, this wil be a great opportunity for the children to see and learn firsthand aspects of our Geography topic. We will be undertaking activities to do with the study of rivers, mountains, map work, settlements, tourism etc. All activities are led by leaders from the centre with school staff on hand too.
Due to the nature of this trip there is always an inherent risk involved when participating in any physical activity, however staff will always try to minimise that risk by taking into account the child’s ability, character and weather conditions. By giving your consent for your child to go on this trip, you accept the above.

As this is an educational trip, school have subsidised the cost of the visit, which brings the price down to £110, instead of £154, this includes all meals and transport.

A non-refundable deposit of £10 is needed by Friday 19th October to secure your child’s place on the trip.
The rest of the payments should be made in the following instalments:
    £20 on 1.11.18
    £20 on 3.12.18
    £20 on 7.1.19
    £20 on 4.2.19
    £20 on 4.3.19

Payments can either be made in cash (in an envelope with child’s name on) or via the ‘shop’ in Parentmail.

We hope you will support this visit, as the year 5 residential trip has always been popular and fun.

Further information will follow once the booking is confirmed. If you have any questions or queries at this stage please speak to a member of the year 5 staff.

    Yours sincerely
Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Etherington and Mrs. Jobling

Parking Issues

A number of local residents, especially in Glynwood Gardens, have expressed their concerns over people parking over their driveways. Whilst it is not against the law to park over driveways, it is very inconsiderate. Please respect our neighbours and park considerately.
