This week Reception children have been learning all about weddings. We have talked about the traditions we already know about weddings and found out about how weddings are celebrated in other countries and religions. We have even had a look at the wedding photographs from some of the staff’s weddings. The activities of the week have been building up to our own wedding ceremony today! Two of our Reception children volunteered to be the bride and groom and they had their own bridesmaids and groomsmen to help them out on the day. Pastor Bob kindly came into school to officiate the wedding – what a treat! The wedding guests all listened well to the ceremony and we even had a couple of wedding photographers to capture the happiness of the occasion.

After the ceremony, the children enjoyed a wedding breakfast of milk and fruit before the party began! The bride and groom had their first dance and then everyone else joined in too. It has been a fantastic day and everyone looked just marvellous in their wedding outfits!
