Nursery had a fantastic day today at Gibside National Trust! All the grown-ups were so proud of them as they walked for over 3 miles in total carrying their own backpacks… Well done Nursery!

We know that this trip was a big step for some children (and parents/carers too!) being out of school all day but they all did extremely well and thoroughly enjoyed their day.

We started off our day exploring the walled garden looking at the trees and vegetable patches, we then walked past the ruined castle/house and had a fantastic discussion about who we thought might live there! We also found a big tower- which all the children thought Rapunzel could be at the top of – we shouted for her but there was no reply! There were lots of hungry tummies and much excitement about eating packed lunches so after a hike up the big hill we stopped at the stables for lunch.

After lunch we loved running down the big hills, jumping in puddles and looking at all the tall trees- we couldn’t believe the size of some of them! We then had an excellent time at the adventure playground. There was lots of excellent team work at the sand/water area, super climbing on the large climbing frames, chasing games and brave people on the big swings too.

We burned off so much energy today that there we even a few sleepy heads on the coach journey home! What a super day!
