Halloween week in Reception was great fun, it was lovely to see the children so excited to dress up and to celebrate the occasion. The children enjoyed carving pumpkins and using their senses to explore the parts we had scooped out from the inside. They also loved role playing in our spooky house where they made potions in the cauldron and served their friends spider soup! We focused on the Julia Donaldson story ‘Room on the Broom’, we made puppets using the characters, retold the story and even listened to the story in our Parent/Carer story time – it is a class favourite! On Thursday, the children dressed up in their really fantastic Halloween costumes and enjoyed having a special Halloween milk and fruit time in the hall with the disco lights!
