Reception were delighted and a little nervous to welcome the local poilce into our classroom. They were very friendly and the children enjoyed chatting to them very much. The children had some excellent questions, including;
“Do you shoot baddies?”
“Are you ever scared?… Are you scared of spiders?”
“What is a cell? What is it like?”
Reception were reassured that the police were there to keep people safe. They heard that they can go to the police when they need help. The police showed us their equipment and explained how to use it. Next time we see the police out on the street or in their cars, we are going to wave hello!
After the police visit, we have had a wonderful time being the police ourselves in the classroom!
Here I am, answering the phone to help people!
Where are the baddies? Let’s look for them!
We used maps to know where to drive to!
I’m the police rescue dog! I have made my own kennel!
I drive the helicopter. Here are the propellors going round and round.
