We had a fantastic House time on 17th June, making kites with our grown-ups. The weather was very kind and helped us fly VERY HIGH ! ! !

We are working very hard in school to gain the Rights Respect Award. In Year 2 we all know what UNICEF stands for, do you?

Friday was Day for Change, when all of the children wore their pyjamas for school to raise money for two charities. Year 4 did some cooking in their pyjamas, as a farewell treat for Jack who is moving to another school.

It has been a busy week at Glynwood! We had a visit from Ofsted, a Parent/Carers art afternoon in Year 3 and we all came to school in our PJ’s for charity. For this week’s Wild Wednesday in Nursery, Zig our alien friend, asked us to build him a new house. We thought about what we would need and where would be the best place to build it. It’s not long until some of the children in Nursery will be going up into Reception. They have been busy doing lots of sound, letter and number jobs recently and have blown Mrs Yielder’s and Mrs Inness’ socks off with their brilliance ! Well done you superstars !!

Reception have been working with Jennie from the charity ‘Cyrenians’. Jennie looks after the gardens and grounds in their hostel and helps people learn how to grow plants and vegetables. They were very kind and donated some large water coolers for us to re-cycle into mini green houses. Jennie came in a big van and we helped her carry all the bottles to our outdoor garden. Year 3 children enjoyed spending time painting in pyjamas with parents, grandparents and friends this afternoon. We looked at the paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe and, after a visit to our garden, had a go at painting close-ups of flowers and plants. As you can see, some beautiful work was produced! Thank you to all of those people who joined us today.
