The children in Year 2 took part in a fabulous Formula One Challenge. Grown ups and carers came in to work with children to help them create the most fantastic model cars. These were all put into teams and raced against each other. The winner from each team went into the final and the winner was the car which travelled the furthest. We also had a winner for the best designed car. Well done to everyone that took part and […]
The first part of the football season is now complete and won’t return until the 5 - a – side competition after Christmas. The year 5 and 6 team have been steadily improving and won their first match on Thursday beating St.Peters school 5 – 0 and narrowly losing 3 – 1 to Carr Hill. Cameron Higham, Joeseph Fisher, Kieran Fleming and Kiera Skelton were amongst the scorers. Well done also to the defence and Kieran Burns for keeping a clean sheet […]

We have been learning to do some oral storytelling and ‘The Little Red Hen’ is a perfect story to do this with as it contains lots of repetition. We used a story map to help us and then managed to tell the story off by heart ! We also wrote letters to the characters (and they wrote back to us too !), made playdough bread and real bread – the real bread was delicious and great messy fun to make ! […]
The children in Reception really got into the swashbuckling spirit recently when we decided we would like to do lots of jobs about pirates. We made treasure maps, listened to lots of pirate stories (The Night Pirates was a favourite, along with Pirates Love Underpants !), wrote letters, made hats, patches and telescopes, dug for treasure in the sand and went on a real treasure hunt around our school grounds. We also loved coming to school in our fabulous pirate costumes.
