We all had our eyes tested by the optician who came in to see us at school. We had to wear funny glasses and tell her what we could see. We took part in our school’s World War 1 commemoration day on November 11th by talking about soldiers and why we should remember them. We also asked lots of thoughtful questions and our activities that day were based around poppies. We all made our own poppies to wear, made remembrance cards in the writing area and we made dough poppies too. As part of our science topic about light and dark, we made dark boxes for our investigation area. We painted the insides black and cut out eye holes so that we could peep through and look at different coloured paper. We found  that the silver foil was the easiest to see in the dark, but we could see everything clearly when we shone a torch through the holes.
